Worth Reading

You may have noticed the picture of a great-looking young man with a wonderful smile at the bottom of my page. Gary was (and still is) the only child of my sister, Janet. Only nephew, only grandson, only boy in our family of girls. He was so special to anyone who met him and was always smiling.
On Easter weekend 2009, the unthinkable happened. Gary was fishing (this was his passion) and we will never know exactly what happened, but he was found in Tellico Lake three days later. These days and many that followed were by far the worst days of our lives.
My sister is a saint - I've always called her the "perfect" one out of the three of us girls. She has written a book about how she got through this tragedy and the days/months/years that have gone by and continue. I have an only child and can't imagine what she has been through and goes through each day. This book is an awesome read for anyone and especially good for someone who is suffering from the loss of a child.
The book is now available as an ebook and hard copies should be out in two to four weeks. Of course, I will have some at my store along with a book signing sometime.

We will NEVER forget you.

Words to live by!

There are so many different quotes and sayings I truly love. I am forever taking pictures of them too, so I thought I would share. A lot of them have a truly special meaning to me and my life. The ones I have "collected" inspire me to be thankful and give praise for what God has blessed me with! Hope you enjoy :)

  1. Oh my goodness!! I can't even imagine what Janet has gone through. It's obvious God has pulled her through this and continues to watch over her. I need to get a copy of her book and read it. God Bless you all!
