Started with a $1 bird cut out (wooden), added dried moss and flowers, some bark, and a button. Finished off the edges with scrap material. Love it!

A friend and co-worker of mine recently passed away at the age of 45. Still not sure what the 'cause' was as he was fine one day, had a seizure was fine, had another one and never came out of it. His mother is a dear, sweet lady who was the single mom of two boys. I offered to take the flowers from his funeral and make potpourri out of them for her. Delivered it today. She was very pleased. So glad I was able to do this little thing for her.
In loving memory

Creativity with Material Scraps - Vintage Flowers

My mind was churning with ideas of what to do with them with items I had available (for free)! I've NEVER been close to being a seamstress. Actually, I still take missing buttons to my mother's house and she sews them on for me (I know, that's pretty bad). I love the vintage flowers made out of material scraps. I visited dear old Mom and got a few of her leftovers. Here's my first completed project with the books.
Considering this was my very first try at the vintage flowers, I thought it wasn't too bad. I am now working on the others!
Check back to see what I came up with and offer any suggestions!
My second completed book! |
